Jill 20151

I’m Jill Caldwell. I formed Windshift in 2000, after 11 years in the market research industry. I help people in businesses and organisations to find simple, practical ways to do research, gather insights, and build positive relationships with their customers and audiences.

My main focus is on designing research and mentoring the people who carry it out – whether they are communicators, marketers, customer service specialists or other researchers.

But I also do large scale research projects – one or two per year – which work on a subscription basis – allowing clients to access information about emerging trends or changing demographics, that they might not do themselves.

I co-wrote 8 Tribes: the hidden classes of New Zealand and I ran a major study of New Zealanders’ values, called The Lay of the Land in 2017. To see what I’m up to this year, please click here.

I formed the Windshift Network to keep people up to date with what I’m thinking and doing. Join the network now [see below] and get my monthly Windshift Observations newsletter.

  1. Hi Jill,

A recent copy of your newsletter was passed on to me and I have now found your site. I’m interested in learning more about your syndicated NZ values study.

I run a qualitative research collective Fresh Focus and we run a few syndicated studies and most recently released a report Behind the Device – the role of mobile in NZ. http://www.behindthedevice.com

I would love to chat to you further about the values study and explore whether you might like some fieldwork help if you get the project off the ground.

Look forward to hearing from you,
    Nikki Quail
